The Juliets are a five piece chamber pop band hailing from Ypsilanti, Michigan. The Juliets were formed in October 2008 by pianist Jeremy Freer (formerly of his namesake band, Freer), cellist Kaylan Mitchell (formerly of the band, not the country; Canada), and violinist Sarah Myers. Over a bottle of red wine, the trio began writing classically influenced pop songs as well as primarily classical works.The Juliets have shared the stage with such acts as The Von Bondies, OFFICE, The Satin Peaches, and The Silent Years.

Their dedication to classically-influenced pop songs is showcased heavily on their self-titled debut album, The Juliets, released February 2010. The ambitious collection of songs showcases Freer's songcraft with the aid of some soaring strings that are not just ornamental but essential to the band's sound. This is baroque with backbone.
