KERN is a Chicago-based band and the brainchild of Detroit-born singer/songwriter Christopher Kern.  Their self-titled debut will be released on the multi-instrumentalist’s own Flat Response Sound label on February 3, 2009.  The album is ripe with hooks, lush orchestration, and thoughtful compositions that are as personal as they are universal.  Kern is simply pop bliss.

Kern was raised in Milford, MI where he was introduced to music at a young age from his father.  Growing up he became a self-taught musician, painter and loved drawing with charcoal.  Kern studied school in Grand Rapids, MI which then led him a career in Chicago.  With Chicago's beautiful music scene, Chicago is where Kern became the founder of Flat Response Sound and the man behind the singer/songwriter KERN.
